About me
Hi there! I'm Nisreen, an entrepreneur, artist, designer and science-driven creator with many passions and aspirations. Combining my biggest passions design and cognitive science, I work as a full-time public servant for the Government of Canada. Currently, I am a Team Leader and Senior UX Advisor in the Web, Citizen Experience team, within the Strategic Communications and Marketing Sector at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
I have 10 years of experience taking on various roles in multimedia and interaction design, graphic and web design, communications, research and analysis. I can adapt to various environments, roles and new challenges.
I received my DEC in Graphic and Web Design in 2015 at CEGEP Heritage College. I then continued part-time studies at the University of Carleton, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Science in 2021. During this time, I established myself in my career as a graphic designer and UX designer and researcher while taking on freelancing projects in various fields - photography, graphic design, art and tutoring. After years of taking on creative projects, I decide to expand into a position of leadership and - becoming a team leader.
Additionally, I received my International Mentor/Peer Educator Training Program Certification (IMTP/IPTP) by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) in 2015. With this, I took on a few students and young adults with tutoring and mentoring.
With my combined background, I have taken on various paths as a graphic designer, a photographer, a UX/UI designer and researcher, a team leader, an artist, a tutor and a mentor. At my core, I am a creative, critical thinker, detail-oriented designer, collaborator, and inquisitive problem solver–that is empathy-driven. I enjoy helping people and finding ways to work smarter, not harder for both myself and others.
Here you will find my art collection. I have more digital and services products coming soon.
